What is a project charter?
A project charter is a short, signed document that defines a project before work begins: its objective, success criteria, scope and out-of-scope, key assumptions, stakeholders, and how decisions get made. It gives everyone a shared, written definition of what the project is and what "done" looks like, so the team starts aligned.
Most projects that fail were never set up correctly. No clear scope, no shared definition of success, no plan for when things go sideways. A charter fixes that at the start: it is the single document the sponsor and team agree on before the first task is assigned.
Fifty1 produces a signed Project Charter as part of every Initiate engagement, along with a Stakeholder Register, Risk Register, and Communication Plan.
All engagements are flat-fee, no hourly surprises.
